Dominion (some thoughts)

I was thinking today about  the events of Adam and Eve.  And I thought about how in each of our lives and some point (s) we give dominion over to Satan to reign in rule, sometimes on a personal level, our  personal lives and other times on a bigger scale, household, job, school, business etc…

Ephesians 6:12 KJV For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We’re wrestling against all these things.  There’s  an abundance of knowledge in the world that is groomed against  the knowledge of God (which is the truth) and because of the ignorance of men, in their hearts it’s successful. Puffed up knowledge that neither gives power to God or Satan, but denies them both, for example.  Let’s say that the enemy is  “a-okay” with this because God wants us to know Him and if  understanding of neither keeps us from knowing God then our hearts are subject to the evil one. And we are delivered unto delusions.

2 Thessalonians 2:8-14 (8)  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (9)  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  (10)  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  (11)  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  (12)  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.  (13)  But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:  (14)  Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is happening in our generation.

But once you come to knowledge of the truth which is in Christ, Satan and sinful acts have no more dominion over you.
Romans 6:1-4 KJV  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?  (2)  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?  (3)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  (4)  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Newness of life; free from the power of sin.

Romans 6:12-19 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.  (13) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.  (14)  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.  (15)  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.  (16) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? (17)  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.  (18)  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.  (19)  I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

If you submit to sin then the devil (Satan) will have reign in your life unto death.  If you submit to Jesus then righteousness, grace and obedience will reign in you life unto eternal life.

“Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee”
How can we resist the devil? he is the prince of darkness that rules this temporary world.  When we recognize the power and authority of the holy spirit over the authority we think Satan has knowledge will come to us that we can in fact by the power of the Holy Spirit in us, resist Satan.  We must know that  the divine influence (Godly influence) aka GRACE motivates (encourages, moves) us to submit to Him and be at rest in His grace, mercy and love.

God bless
