Excuse, Me! -A Poem

Do I make you nervous?

Am I threatening?

Did I walk suspiciously down the block

Where my hands to high,no?

Too low?

Too deep inside my pockets?

Are we still residual-ed by our past

Or can we move on?

This American community

Is still struggling to include me

Include you, fine, make do!

Make yourself useful, be elite,

Refined, righteous, rightness, whiteness

–devoid of all things associated with nothingness

Bright and shining, and inclined for attention

Be the gods of this American soil, but excuse, me

While I make my own way.
